The second-hand shopping app has updated its sizing categories for women's and children's clothes failing to inform all users about the change. Digital Channels Backlash Numerous buyers and vendors are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show a different size category than originally posted because of the remapping. Vinted explained the updated approach better aligns with comparable marketplaces. They have suggested members to examine their items and adjust the sizing manually where appropriate, which has left users frustrated. Size Classification Changes Earlier, the sizes had both a single numeric size and a letter, like S/8 or M/10. The revised method features a letter and a range such as S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L was previously a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. Shopper Accounts One content creator, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Stephanie Gallen, from Glasgow, explained products she uploaded featuring size 14 markings were appearing on the platform as larger sizing 20-22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they may become frustrated," she said. Necessary Adjustments A different user, from Derby, said she had been left angered by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products". "This situation is especially annoying, as I'm chronically ill and selling on Vinted has been paramount following partial earnings loss," she said. Platform Context The service features exceeding 100 million users, including 18 million in the UK. It has proved a popular alternative to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, Vinted reversed a change concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
