Per new allegations from a informant, the convicted associate of Jeffrey Epstein, currently serving a 20-year prison term for trafficking offenses, is allegedly readying a clemency request for review by the Trump administration.

Preferential Handling Alleged at Federal Prison

Congressional Democrats on the judicial oversight panel revealed that a whistleblower provided evidence indicating the inmate is working on the commutation application. Additionally, they mentioned she has been given preferential conditions at the minimum-security facility in the Lone Star State.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House judiciary committee, declared in a news release that the prison’s warden was “helping” the convict with document preparation and submission to aid her effort for executive mercy.

Specific details of the clemency request are unknown, Raskin added.

Alleged Privileges and Custom Arrangements

Raskin states that, per the insider, the prisoner has been receiving “customized” meals that are “personally delivered” to her cell, and the warden has “personally arranged” exclusive visits for her and her visitors.

The visits reportedly involve a “special cordoned-off area” for attendees and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her guests.

Maxwell’s visitors were also allowed to bring computers, which the congressman characterized as an exceptional measure given the potential danger and chance of unsupervised contact.

Reportedly on one occasion, when phone lines went down for other inmates, she was given specific instructions about instructing her associates to contact and how personnel would relay the call to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The source also allegedly told House Democrats that when Maxwell wanted to review and edit documents promptly, she “essentially used” the official as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The news release indicates that Maxwell’s correspondents would send files directly to the supervisor, who would hand them over to Maxwell, for her to examine and change and provide them back to the warden to scan and provide to the original sender.

Extra Benefits Alleged

Further perks allegedly granted to Maxwell include time to “play with” a trainee assistance dog – a benefit typically prohibited – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the prison exercise area.

Maxwell’s attorney has not yet replied to a request for comment regarding the insider's allegations.

Through a spokesperson, the White House said that it “does not comment” on potential clemency requests.

“Per the President's remarks, granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has thought about,” the representative added.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, reports surfaced that Maxwell told close associates in electronic messages that she was “much happier” at the new prison than her previous prison.

This past summer, Maxwell was transferred from a secure facility in Tallahassee, Florida to the less restrictive prison in Texas, where most inmates are serving time for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

The transfer, which experts described as exceptional, occurred just shortly following she was questioned about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the senior justice official, Todd Blanche, who also previously served as Donald Trump's personal lawyer.

That interview came as the Trump administration was facing mounting pressure to disclose additional files related to the ongoing probe and amid intense speculation around the President's own connections to the disgraced financier and adjudicated criminal, who was found deceased in custody in 2019 while awaiting prosecution on trafficking accusations.

Lawmaker Reactions

In the news release, Raskin also announced that he had sent a letter to Trump, requesting explanations about the whistleblower’s allegations, and called on the chief executive to deny Maxwell’s commutation request.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any type of pardon to this convicted and unrepentant criminal,” Raskin wrote in the document. “Your Administration should not be providing her with personal amenities, with puppies to play with, with federal law enforcement officials attending to her requests, or with any preferential handling or facility benefit at all.”

The congressman asked that the official attend a public congressional hearing to discuss the revelations and also presented several inquiries to Trump.

Raskin asked whether he had talked about a potential commutation for the convict with Blanche or others, whether he had instructed him or anyone else to provide her with the transfer or special conditions in detention, and whether she, her attorneys, relatives or representatives have made any promises to Trump or his attorneys.

Raskin has asked for a reply to the questions by the specified date.

Last month, the nation's highest court rejected an petition from the convict on her trafficking verdict.
